Design Process
Client Questionaire:
An extensive questionnaire that confirms what our design direction will be. This questionnaire is kept this in your file and referred to often during the design process.
Site Analysis (Phase One):
This begins with measuring of the site, including the buildings that are involved with the design area. An inventory of existing features such as fencing, hardscaping, trees and shrubs, etc is taken.
Site conditions are noted that might affect the design, such as views that need to be blocked, views that need to be accentuated, amount of slope, prevailing winds, sun/shade patterns, undesirable noise, etc. Photos are also taken of the property at this time.
Conceptual Work (Phase Two):
The property is drafted to scale, locating all important pieces of the existing landscape. Utilizing all information gathered from the client and on-site work, a Conceptual Drawing is created that will often contain a variety of options for design of the property or area. Plant selections will be made to represent design solutions, but they will be general in nature. Specific details in reference to hardscaping will be included here. Photos and other media will be brought to help present ideas.
Conceptual Presentation (Phase Three):
This part of the design is very enjoyable, allowing you to see your property and its possibilities in visual form. At this meeting we will solidify the final plan. This concludes the Conceptual Phase of the design. (Note: If there are any changes to the design after this point, these changes will be considered additional design time and will be charged accordingly at the hourly rate).
Final Presentation (Phase Four):
Once all information has been finalized, the final copy of the design is completed, and the Design Packet is presented to you. Staying connected with you through the installation process is a service I offer, helping you in connecting with installation professionals and assisting in plant layout, etc.
